You know what I just did?
Wait for it……
I lay on my bed and read a book.  For a whole hour.  While the kids were napping.  (They’re still asleep)
I rested.  I closed my eyes.  I listened to the silence. It was heavenly.
Normally, I’m rushing around….working, writing, calling, cleaning, organizing, putting toys away, emptying the dishwasher….blah, blah, [...]

Let’s be clear.  I am NOT A MORNING PERSON.
In fact, I think my facial muscles are frozen in a permament sleep mask for the first hour (or more) that I am awake.  It is close to impossible for me to smile.
And I hate, detest, abhor being startled awake (this does not include hearing my children [...]

Her name is Emily Berry. In January of this year, she was diagnosed with an inopearable brain tumor.  Rather than bursting into tears, instead of yelling, “Why me?” this little girl waited until the neurologist left the room, she looked at her [...]

I used to be afraid of the phrase ‘Because I said so’.  It may be number one on the list of things I had no intention of saying to my children.  It was a phrase I detested hearing when I was young and I was determined it would NEVER, EVER, EVER come out of my [...]

Here’s a story that gets me a little fired up.  A friend of a friend has a new baby.  Baby’s Mommy was on maternity leave….and apparently wanting to head back to work after only a few days.  The question constantly coming from her mouth: “Just what do stay at home moms do all day anyway?  I would be [...]

These are the men in my life.

One has had my heart for 7 years now…the other for only 718 days, but it feel like a lifetime. One has brown hair and hazel eyes…the other, a little blondie with blue eyes, but they both have my heart.
They both love baseball, especially the Cardinals.  They could eat [...]
