I am trying to teach my children how important it is to be grateful. I think it is such a crucial life-lesson. In the interest of practicing what I preach…I am sharing my gratitude.
Today, I am grateful for my family. My children are growing and special, my husband is wonderful, my parents are healthy and so are my husband’s parents. I am ecstatic that I can glimpse the beginnings of Spring. I know it is going to hit the 40’s again over the weekend, but for now, I am soaking up the sun and 60 degree temps. I love chocolate. I am grateful for jeans that fit, flip-flops (because I am dying to wear them) and light coats. I am thrilled with fresh strawberries, sweet ice tea, having a car that runs, and a roof over my head.
I am especially grateful for friendships, laughter that makes your face hurt, and the chance to look forward to a fun event. I love hugs and ‘kishes’ from my kids, a friendly hello from a stranger and people who hold the door open for you (particularly when you have your hands full).
I am a fan of Fridays and Saturdays, I can’t wait to see the tulips that pop through the cool ground and the soft pink buds that grace so many trees in the Midwest.
I miss the ocean, my college friends I don’t get to see often enough and a 55 degree day being considered ‘a bit chilly’.
I love the words ‘spectacular’, ‘unassuming’, ‘verbose’, ‘thrill’, ‘eclectic’, ‘outstanding’, and of course, ‘extraordinary’.
Oh…and I am grateful for the opportunity to write.
Make your own list. I smiled the whole time I was making mine 🙂
