Yep, my kids decided to play together this morning…leaving me (mainly) in peace. I wasn’t quite sure what to do with myself. I normally navigate the mine field that is sibling fighting, he-said/she-said, non-sharing, and a few overly aggresive pushes.
The ONLY thing better is if they sleep in and the house is filled with silence (I think that’s the right word…I’m not sure I know what ‘silence’ is anymore)
You know what? I take that back….Delaney and Cooper playing together peacefully is better than them sleeping in….because it bodes well for our future as a family. And it (at least temporarily) convinces me I am doing something right. I am teaching them to be best friends. I am teaching them they can be independant enough to play without constant supervision. I am encouraging them to use their imagination in play.
My favorite words are fast becoming, “Come on, Buddy. Let’s go play.” (that’s Delaney) followed by Cooper’s very enthusiastic, “OK, OK, OK, OK, yeah, yeah, yeah!”
OK..yes, Mommy Lottery, that’s how I started my day.
I wish you a Mommy Lottery afternoon (whatever that might mean in your world)
