Today has been a bit crazy. (That’s code for, “I’ve been tremendously crabby.”)
It could be that, after winning the Mommy Lottery this morning, my kids felt compelled to bring me slamming back to earth – hence the incessant screaming and yelling. It could be that I dealt with an extremely rude ‘customer service’ (ha!) person. It could be that I can’t get rid of my headache. It could be that I finally dragged the kids with me to the gym we just joined, only to be told ‘reservations’ are required for their kid’s care. (just a little thing they forgot to mention when we signed up). It could be that my internet has gone down three times today..including just a few minutes ago. This is the second time I am typing this post.
However, I am committed to focusing on the good. Now that I have put the ‘yuck’ down for you to see, I’m going to let it go and summon all of the goodness surrounding everything I am grateful for.
Let’s hop to it. I am grateful that/for:
It has been sunny today. My husband has put his ‘hero Dad’ hat on and is playing with the kiddos. (I am excessively grateful to have a loving, supportive, funny husband.) A healthy family.
Showering in the middle of the day. Tylenol. Return address stickers (don’t they save so much time?). Emails from friends. Instant messages that let me keep in touch with far away friends. Facebook. Words of encouragement. Loyal Friends. The band Lifehouse. Chocolate. The baseball season (it makes my husband so happy) Friendly insurance agents. My friend, Mary. That I am not doing bathtime tonight. My bed. My favorite blue blanket. Playing Bingo with the babies. Manicotti. The cherry blossom tree budding outside my window. School picture day for Delaney (it is just too sweet). Forehead ‘kishes’ from Cooper.
And a special highlight today: being the featured blog on WP in the Children’s category.
Now, you see, I feel better. Since everything on my list makes me smile, I am happier by the time I am done. I’m hoping this gives me a head start on tomorrow. 🙂
